Chair of National Eye Health Week calls on Optometrists to help recruit case studies

Francesca M Marchetti BSc(Glas), Chair of National Eye Health WeekChair of National Eye Health Week, Francesca Marchetti is calling on optometrists to help with recruiting case studies to help illustrate why regular sight tests are vital during National Eye Health Week which takes place between 17 - 23 September this year.

Case study volunteers can be any age, gender or ethnicity. They need to be willing to share their story about how their sight was saved or how a potentially serious health condition was detected as a result of having a routine sight check.

Being a case study involves taking part in a short interview with a member of the National Eye Health Week project team. The team will then be in touch regarding possible media opportunities but there is never any obligation to take part and the team will always ask the volunteer’s permission before sharing their contact details with journalists.

Francesca Marchetti, Chair of National Eye Health Week said: "We are keen to recruit as many powerful case study stories as possible so we can raise much needed awareness of eye health in the media. We would be grateful for any support you can provide to make this year's National Eye Health Week the biggest and best yet!"

Optometrists who can recommend case studies should contact Katherine@visionmatters.org.uk or call 07824431960.
