National Eye Health Week has teamed up with Boots Opticians to launch an innovative new education project designed to prevent future (avoidable) sight loss[1].

With the help of two colourful and friendly cartoon characters – Ellen and Ravi Sunbeam – children aged five to seven years old will learn about the importance of good eyesight and the simple things that they can do to help keep their vision healthy. They will also have the opportunity to observe and experience how the sun can affect the body and why it is important to protect eyes against damaging Ultra Violet rays.

To register for your FREE curriculum linked teaching resource pack containing teaching notes, creative work sheets, UV beads and important information for parents please complete the form below. Subject to availability.

Alternatively, you can download copies of the Sunbeams work sheets and teaching notes from our online resource centre.

Don't forget...our Vlog from Dr Ranj (co-creator and presenter of the pioneering CBeebies' show Get Well Soon) provides children with an inspiring and entertaining introduction to eyes and eye health.
